You should feel comfortable doing anything by yourself. Heck, sometimes I prefer it. Always needing someone to do things like go to the movies is a mark of insecurity.

If you can’t enjoy your own company, why would anyone else?

Not gonna lie, I’ve done it. But only in my neighborhood, where I don’t know anyone else and don’t have the fear of running into friends and having a conversation like this:

“Are you seeing a movie by yourself?”

“What? Me? Uhh…no, I’m just waiting for my blind date to show up! Welp, looks like I got stood up…guess I’ll just go to the movie anyway!”

Yeah…cause that would be sad and pathetic.

I agree with everything she writes about….and this part especially pertains EXACTLY to me:

My parents were in their mid-thirties when they had me, so they haven’t started pressuring me about children yet the way other parents might. I know, however, that they would like grandchildren, and since I am the only child, that part is up to me. I had no idea that Julia Child, and fellow Smith alum (we are just so awesome), was a spy. From Gawker:

TV chef and cookbook author Julia Child was secretly more awesome than you already thought, because she was part of a very exciting World War II-era secret spying ring, government files revealed this morning. It was already known that Child had worked in an administrative capacity for the Office of Strategic Services, the less evil precursor to the CIA.
