You should feel comfortable doing anything by yourself. Heck, sometimes I prefer it. Always needing someone to do things like go to the movies is a mark of insecurity.
If you can’t enjoy your own company, why would anyone else?
Not gonna lie, I’ve done it. But only in my neighborhood, where I don’t know anyone else and don’t have the fear of running into friends and having a conversation like this:
“Are you seeing a movie by yourself?”
“What? Me? Uhh…no, I’m just waiting for my blind date to show up! Welp, looks like I got stood up…guess I’ll just go to the movie anyway!”
Yeah…cause that would be sad and pathetic.
